Lomography is a fun little side project I am just diving into.  It is a "from the hip" style of photography that is perfectly imperfect.  The term lomography was inspired by the original brand name of a state run optics manufacturer in St Petersburg, Russia . . . LOMO.  The lo-fi, light-stained, weirdly saturated photos produced by these plastic cameras are totally unique, and have a style all on their own.  Click here for a website totally dedicated to all things Lomo.

There are many Lomo cameras on the market today; and to be perfectly honest, I want one of each.  However, my budget won't allow for that just now.  I'll just have to settle for one at a time.  This Diana F+ was originally purchased as a gift for my wife; and at some point I realized, it wasn't getting used.  When I wondered why out loud, it was explained to me in simple terms.  I was the photographer of the family, and if I didn't use it, no one would.

This was my latest Ebay find, and it just arrived after a three week journey from Mother Russia.  I have been combing the internet for a twin lens reflex (TLR) camera for some time now, and I really had my heart set on Rolleicord; but after seeing how much those cameras were going for, I decided to seek out a more affordable option.  This vintage Lubitel fit the bill nicely.  It was cheap, it was clean, it had two lenses, and every thing seems to work on it.  I'm running my first test roll through now; and as soon as I get  it back from developing, I'll post the highlights under the Lubitel 166B tab in the menu bar.
